I bought this for my 10 year old daughter and I intend to return it asap. The game uses a logitech USB microphone that just doesn't work well with the wii. There's a delay in the microphone signal path that results in your audio coming out of the speakers about 200 milliseconds after you sing it (that's an educated quess). That's enough of a delay to make it basically unusable.

Amost speechless but not quite. This game is AWESOME!! I've played Gran Turismo for years, all of the previous 4 games and this one is by far the greatest! I'll admit it, if basketball is on, you probably won't see me watching it. But that makes my enjoyment of this game all the more impressive I think.

I got roped into playing this at a friend's house after dinner and, after discovering how much I loved it, I ordered my own on Amazon. Go figure. If I like it that much and you love the hoops...I think you'll be even more impressed.

NBA Today feature: Creates realism...all the excitement that is actually going on in the NBA (the real NBA) is streamed into the game during commentary, news, and stats. The "living rosters" intersect the real NBA with your game. Trades are automatic, you'll see injuries etc with the interactive menus. It works.

Graphics: I consider them excellent for a Wii game and quite realistic. Again, that's for a Wii game...don't expect tv realism, but it's not an expressionless Mii or a "Speed Racer" type animation either. You'll even get accurate facial expressions.

You will get to create your own player, much like you would in the Sims game, and guide every career decision he makes. You create him physically and mentally via his decisions. You will get experience and skill points for his successes along the way which build him to become the ultimate player. Wanna live vicariously? You can here. Play your cards right in your player's training and you may wind up packing for the NBA. You could also wind up in a D-league team til you get your act together.

Sound: Sounds like an NBA game. Provides faced paced action even in sound.

Motion Control: Smooth and fluid. I think anything I got tripped up on was user error as, playing in a group, true basketball fans were all out awesome to watch on this game when my friends did it and did it well. For me, there was some learning to do. I experienced no lag.

The online experience was great, although I have only done that a couple of times. This allows you to play the game with a friend or spouse or family member right next to you OR your relative in another town.

1-4 players can play versus and coop or 2-10 versus and coop online with 5 man rosters on each side.

Conclusion: Being able to take your own player from creation to training to NBA and play online means the game can change every day for you which keeps your interest fresh and the streaming realistic commentary not only better ensures this, but adds even more realism to this fast paced and fun basketball game on the Wii. I previously owned a DS Lite, which, sadly, was stolen, and I made the decision to replace it with the DSi. In retrospect, I wish I had just gone with the DS Lite.

The DSi costs $40 more, with the upgrades including a larger screen, camera, Wifi capabilities, and a few other things. However, while these upgrades look great on the surface, the functionality just isn't there. The camera is very low resolution, and while there are some "fun" things to do with the pictures (swirl parts of your face together, add a pig nose, that type of thing), they're very sophomoric and cheap looking. Therefore, the pictures only work to kill time - you can't use them for anything.

The internet is extremely slow and hard to use. Even if you're used to getting online via small devices (iPhone, Blackberry), you will find the small screen and sluggishness frustrating.

And, of course, you lose the ability to play GBA games that the DS Lite had. This was a perk that I didn't realize I'd miss as much as I do. All-in-all, the DS is a great handheld, but the DSi is not a $40 improvement over the DS Lite. Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron

You begin playing this game as a stormtrooper named X1 (or X2) both X1 & X2 are the first storm troopers in the Star Wars universe, or something like that, and you are given missions (stages) to run through and complete. In the first few stages you are playing during the time of Star Wars Episode 1, and progress through each chapter of the trilogy to beyond Return Of The Jedi where as you progress your skills get better and better where you start as a weak like storm trooper and eventually become a Jedi Knight. Tho the missions are not part of what is seen in the Star Wars saga, as you are not in control of Luke Skywalker or anyone like that. This is kind of like "Shadows Of The Empire" where you are in control of someone else that is more an unseen storyline from the movies.

Most of the gameplay is a type of birdseye view of your character where you run him around to blow away the bad guys and reach certain areas of the stage. You also obtain 4 different sets of weaponry, where you have your main weapon that does not run out of ammo, and you have a secondary weapon that does more damage then the regular one, but has limited ammo, as well as another weapon that is usually a bomb of some sort. As you graduate through the game, you unlock these weapons where there are markers in the game that you can switch between these weapons as various different objects from the 4 sets of weapons are needed. However, by the time you have finished the game, this method seems almost useless and annoying making you wonder why you cant just toggle through the 8 weapons, 8 alternate weapons and 8 alternate bombs/ect.
There is also stages where you are in control of an X-Wing, Speeder or Snow Speeder and things like that, where you simply just fly around and shoot tie fighters and turrets and things in space.

There is more to the game play then that, but I think that is enough info for this review.

So is the game any fun?

For a nDS game, it's not bad. But like many of these kind of games, it falls into that well known class where it is fun/ok while you are playing it, but once you beat the game, there is no replay value due to lack of options to keep you interested. The things you unlock in this game besides weapons ect, are completely useless. there is a gallery to view the still photos you see during the campaign of the game. And about 17 achievements to earn that are worthless and unrewarding. Some of the achievements are pretty pathetic, actually, most of them are. Achievements like kill 20 storm troopers, advance to this level, and things like that make no sense as you have to defeat all the storm troopers on the stages or else the gates and doorways for level progressing won't work anyway, so why bother to make that an achievement when it's something that will happen anyway? weather you want it to or not. It may as well have achievements like "you turned this game on" - "You used the A button" - "You farted during gameplay". Those things are just not very well thought out.

The other thing is once you have beaten the game, there is no desire to replay the whole thing again. And there are no new modes, levels, weapons, or anything at all to unlock once the game is completed. And even worse, there is no level select when you beat it either. If you want to go replay a mission, you have to start a campaign again and start from the beginning.

I have no idea about wifi or 2 player modes, I have only played 1 player and have no desire to check those modes out.

So, if you plan to check this game out, coughROMScough is your best bet. If you want to buy it, well, if you are a die hard Star Wars fan and just have to have it, then ok, but if you are thinking this might be a fun game to try, then I suggest you do not pay a lot for it. I've just about finished wrapping up game play with Spore Hero and overall I will say that it has been a very enjoyable experience. There have been moments of frustration (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get to the Moonlit Caverns), but you'll eventually be able to overcome them. The game starts with you crash landing on a planet along with your arch-nemesis. As he goes about making life miserable for the spore tribes already inhabiting the planet, it is your job to evolve to solve quests in order to set things right. Along the way you'll solve quests, interact with the inhabitants of the planet, evolve other creatures, fight, and collect the 327 creature parts scattered across the world (which you can then use to evolve yourself). Combat, which you will do a lot of, places you in a ring with your opponent where you'll be forced to fight each other real time (no turn-based system like in Monster Lab). It's an enjoyable experience, with moderate difficulty. Problem is, the game can be completed fairly quickly (less than 10 hours) and unless you want to evolve and fight creatures, the replay-ability is minimal. In addition the Sporepedia, which with the PC and DS versions allows you to load your creation to the web, lacks that online functionality. This means the Sporepedia is relegated to creating/evolving characters to use in multiplayer battling mode, which is a huge disappointment. EA Montreal could really have pushed this game into the upper echelons of 2009 games by allowing online connectivity (even if simply for the Sporepedia), but it's an opportunity lost. Fifa 10 has better ball and player movements in this FIFA 10 version, however, do not expect the graphics from XBOX and the other consoles. The faces look cartoonish. The playing experience passing the ball, going around other players, etc. is better than in FIFA 09 in part because you don't have the limitations on where to pass the ball to. Now is 360 degrees total rotation and passing. The control of the goal keeper in defense is almost non-existant. In attack he just kicks the ball or passes it with the hands, but you don't controll much of it... specially when kicking. The time for playing is limited to a maximum of five minutes. This I think is ridiculous. Shooting to the goal of the opposite team you don't have any controll or where the ball goes. There is an indicator, which is timed, on the ground and the closes you get to the end of it... where the ball is, the more accurate is your kick. This also happens when you have a penalty... not controll whatsoever on where the ball is going to go. FIFA 09 allows you to indicate where you want the ball before shacking the control to kick it. So... if you are looking for better movement of the body while passing and going throught the other players...definitely FIFA 10, but if you like to be in more controll of the ball when shooting and the keeper... FIFA 09. Also... all my family believes that 09 have better graphics (people faces and replays are better). Pros:
-Audio quality great.
-Everybody could hear me clearly.
-They fit on my ear just fine. In fact it was a little dangly.
-Construction is sound and exudes quality.

Cons:
-Battery life is OK but the problem here is you cant just plug it in and continue playing while you charge it so you have to switch to another headset while its charging. Unlike having a play and charge kit for your controller where you can just plug the controller in when it gets low and continue on your way, you have to take this off your ear, plug it in and put a whole other headset on. This is a real downer to me. They should have made it so I could plug it into the controller and use it wired while its charging. Some people claim a 6 hour battery life, but I usually got close to 4 hours.

Conclusion:

Be careful when scratching off redemption area on card. When I did this 3 of the numbers were distorted. When I called Nintendo customer service they said the only thing I could do was send the card to them along with a letter in hopes they would credit an account for me. Seeing the card has to be activated for use Im not sure why they could not help me over the phone. I could provide them all the information from the card and my purchase. So, I'm not sure why a letter in the mail would be required. This seems like poor customer service on Nintendo's part. The case is a bit small - it only fits the DSI and does not have any slots/pockets for games. Not a problem if you only want to take one game (in the DSi) with you.

Also not terribly impressed with the charging base. The bright blue light stays on all the time, not just when the DSi is charging, and the DSi doesn't just slide onto the charger - it takes a little effort to line up the power plug.

Got it for my daughter who needed a bit more practice with math than I had time to give her. She didn't understand this at first. Played each game with her and now loves it. She is at level 2 (it has 3 levels for like 5 mini-games I believe it is). Wish there was more on this cartridge, but pleased with what is. My 4 year old has played a bit too and can see him into it just as much within a year.
